LACTIC ACID

Plasticises horny skin, makes it perceptibly softer; its hygroscopic nature means that is also a moisturiser. Lactic acid is used in concentrated form to treat warts and corns. It softens horny skin without affecting the healthy zones around it. In a less concentrated aqueous solution, lactic acid is used in acidic creams, face lotions and foot baths to maintain the skin’s biological acid mantle.

Lemon grass oil (CYMBOPOGON FLEXUOSUS)

Lemon grass oil is extracted by water steam distillation of the leaves of a sweet grass whose original home is in India. Today it is mainly cultivated in China, Brazil, Sri Lanka, some parts of Central Africa and in Madagascar. The plant grows up to 1 meter high and can be harvested three to four times a year. Lemon grass oil supports the blood circulation of the skin and tightens the tissues. Regulates sweat and refreshes tired feet.

Luffa particles (LUFFA CYLINDRICA)

The sponge cucumber is a vine plant and a member of the gourd plant family.
For cosmetic purposes, the dried fiber structure of the mature cucumber-like fruits is used as an abrasivum (abrasive) and bulking agent. Luffa particles are created by crushing the fiber structure and serve as abrasives, which can be applied in cosmetics, such as facial and body peelings.
