CALENDULA OFFICINALIS (Calendula oil)

The ethereal oil of the pot marigold (calendula officinalis), a plant very popular in Europe as a cultivated and medicinal plant. Contains carotenoid pigments and triterpene alcohol, is predominantly used in products for the care of sensitive and irritated skin.

CAMPHOR

An ethereal oil extracted by steam distillation from the fragmentized wood of 50-60 year old camphor trees (Cinnamomum camphora). Nowadays largely produced synthetically from a natural base material.

CAPSICUM FRUTESCENS FRUIT EXTRACT (Chili extract)

This is an extract from the dried chili fruit. The pepper species (capsicum) is also called chili or chillies and is a member of the nightshade family. Capsaicin is the substance contained in chili responsible for the hot peppery taste.

CARDIOSPERMUM HALICACABUM (Cardiospermum)

The balloon vine is an herbal climbing plant in the soap wood family. The climbing plant's black seeds, also called "heart seeds" or cardiospermum (cardiospermum halicacabum), are mainly used in homeopathy for treatment of skin eczema.

CARICA PAPAYA EXTRACT (Papaya extract)

Papaya is a tropical crop plant and member of the melon tree plant family. Papaya contains more vitamin A than carrots and more vitamin C than oranges. Papaya extract is a product of extracting papaya fruit. This strengthening active ingredient has a high content of free amino acids and enzymes. It has a refreshing and stimulating effect on the skin and supports its smoothness, elasticity, and suppleness.

CENTELLA ASIATICA (Marsh pennywort extract)

Under its Chinese name Jixuecao, the Asian marsh pennywort (Centella asiatica) was already listed as an effective skin care medium in the Pharmacopoeia the Chinese book of medicinal plants on which all other Chinese pharmaceutical books are based. Marsh pennywort is used in both anti-inflammatory products as well as anti-wrinkle creams.

CERA ALBA (Beeswax)

A metabolite of honeybees, which is produced in their wax glands and used for building honeycombs. Beeswax is used as a stabilizer in crèmes and lotions and many other cosmetic care products. It possesses skin care qualities, especially for rough, dry and cracked skin.

CHAMOMILLA RECUTITA (Camomile), ANTHEMIS NOBILIS (Roman camomile)

The camomile is found throughout Europe and large parts of Asia. It is one of the most popular and most used medicinal plants and was already known in antiquity as a curative medium. A blue, ethereal oil containing the main active constituents chamazulene and bisabolol is obtained from the blossom. It can be used both internally and externally.

CITRIC ACID

Found especially in fruits (citrus fruits, berries) and is extracted from the concentrated juice. Citric acid plays a central role in the cell metabolism of all organisms. The internal cell respiration process takes place in what is known as the citric acid cycle. Citric acid is used in cosmetics to regulate the natural protective acid mantle. Used especially in cleansing products for oily and dehydrated skin types as well as in anti-ageing products.

CITRUS DULCIS (Orange oil)

It is extracted by cold pressing orange peels. The oil tightens and smoothes the skin. It is effective on very dry skin and - naturally - with cracked, coarse skin as well. The scent provides a pleasant freshness.

CITRUS GRANDIS (Grapefruit oil)

The grapefruit is a citrus fruit with healing and nourishing active substances. The volatile oil is extracted by squeezing the peel. It acts refreshing, supports blood circulation and revitalises. The antiseptic effect prevents inflammations. The scent of grapefruit oil increases comfort and simultaneously has a relaxing effect.

COCAMIDE DEA (Palmitic acid)

Fatty acid obtained from coconut oil, encourages the skin’s natural oil generation. Palmitic acid is especially used in skin-cleansing products to prevent dehydration of frequently washed skin.

CYMBOPOGON FLEXUOSUS (Lemon grass oil)

Lemon grass oil is extracted by water steam distillation of the leaves of a sweet grass whose original home is in India. Today it is mainly cultivated in China, Brazil, Sri Lanka, some parts of Central Africa and in Madagascar. The plant grows up to 1 meter high and can be harvested three to four times a year. Lemon grass oil supports the blood circulation of the skin and tightens the tissues. Regulates sweat and refreshes tired feet.
