Olive oil is a plant oil with high vitamin content and is extracted by pressing the flesh and pit of the olive. Even in old Egypt, olive oil was known to be a versatile healing remedy. The olive tree has been cultivated for more than 6000 years and is therefore one of humanity's oldest cultivated plants. The mono-unsaturated fatty acids contained in olive oil are very similar to the fatty acids of the skin. Furthermore, olive oil contains unique valuable components: Linoleic acid as poly-unsaturated fatty acid component, vitamins A, C, E, F, and a high percentage of anti-oxidants that are effective against free radicals. The oil penetrates even deeper skin layers and can there bind moisture and prevent aging. |
