SALICYLIC ACID

Salycylic acid is found in its natural form in a large variety of medicinal plants such as the marigold, pansy as well as willow bark. Due to the wide range of applications they offer, preparations containing salicylic acid are of particular interest to those concerned with foot care. Its keratolytic effect action makes salicylic acid the most used substances to remove skin scaling, soften horny skin and treat corns.

SALIX ALBA (Willow bark extract)

Due to its high content of natural salicylic acid compounds, willow bark extract (Cortex Salicis) is especially used in products for the softening of horny skin.

SALVIA HISPANICA (Sage oil)

Sage oil is extracted from the leaves of the sage shrub. Sage extract acts anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and astringent due to its level of volatile oils, tannins, flavones and camphor.

SODIUM CHLORIDE

Salt plays an extremely significant role where blood replacement, body heat regulation and perspiration are concerned. When used as bath salts it is invigorating and fortifies the skin without any unpleasant soaking effect.

SODIUM LAURYL SULPHATE

Due to its excellent active but mild cleansing properties, sodium lauryl sulphate ensures improved deep-down cleanliness, especially when used in cleansing products such as hair shampoos and bath salts. Perceptibly reduces the irritative and roughening effects of surfactants on skin.

SODIUM MYRETH SULFAT (Biodegradable surfactants)

Washing active substances contained in detergents, shower gels and shampoos in order to improve the solubility" of oil and dirt particles in water. Surfactants enable fine mixing of two liquids that are essentially unable to mix—such as oil and water, for example. Biodegradable surfactants are gentle on the environment and enable thorough cleansing of the skin with only a small potential for irritation.

STEARIC ACID (Stearine)

Made up of the fatty palmitic and stearic acids, this waxy compound is found in a wide variety of animal and vegetable fats. Because of its skin-friendly nature, stearine is widely used in the cosmetics industry for the manufacture of ointment bases.

SYMPHYTUM OFFICINALE (Comfrey)

Comfrey is a perennial, bristly haired, up to 1.5 m high growing shrub. The bell-shaped flowers are red-purple or yellowish-white coloured. The root, plant and leaves of comfrey contain allantoin, mucilages and tannins. The wound-healing astringent attribute is partially based on the levels of allantoin. It stimulates cell division and supports wound healing. It is very well tolerated, rendering rough, cracked skin soft and smooth.
