ZEA MAYS STARCH (Cornstarch)

Cornstarch is extracted from peeled corn seed. The corn plant stores the starch as surplus energy reserve in its tissue. For cosmetic purposes, for example, cornstarch is used in powders or to stabilize emulsions. Cornstarch absorbs moisture and oils and leaves the skin feeling soft and soothened.

ZINGIBER OFFICINALIS (Ginger)

Ginger is one of the oldest-known medicinal plants and was already listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. Like bisabolol and azulene, the ethereal oil of ginger is one of the sesquiterpenes which are antiphlogistic and bacteriostatic. The pungent constituents in ginger extracts have a warming effect by stimulating the blood flow.
